An organization is not necessarily good because it is old, but old because it is good.
Acacia Fraternity is a Greek social fraternity. It was founded on May 12, 1904, at the University of Michigan, and since then over 48,000 men have joined our ranks in pursuit of Virtue, Knowledge & Truth. Built upon these principles, our Fraternity is dedicated to “Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders.” With a groundbreaking new membership development initiative, Cornerstones, and innovative leadership programs such as the Acacia Leadership Academy, we are able to provide unique opportunities for college men to become the next generation of leaders throughout the world. It is the only Greek fraternity that chose a Greek word as a name, instead of just Greek letters. It is a founding member of the North American Interfraternity Conference (IFC).
The Texas Chapter of Acacia was founded April 6, 1916, and re-established in the fall of 2003. In August of 2007, Acacia re-occupied our house at 2614 Rio Grande, and the chapter has been growing and thriving in its home ever since. The chapter today continues to exemplify what a brotherhood should represent, and provides many social and philanthropic opportunities for all members. Texas Acacia is a member of the UT Interfraternity Council (IFC) and participates in both Fall and Spring recruitment/rush.
